About the Workshop
We can see connections in every part of our lives, if we pay enough attention to it.

Patchwork is an improvised theatre show based on movement, the body and music! It displays a series of scenes to create a beautiful patchwork of characters, stories and feelings. The workshop will focus on the work of the body, how listening to ours, to our partner's and to the staging will feed our inspiration. We will also explore the use of music as an infinite wealth of ideas, and an amazing player with us on stage. We will bring all that into the format Patchwork, creating a poetic way to see improv, and expressing the variety of tones, styles and emotions that we have inside of us.

Relax, sit back and observe: you will discover stories connecting to the mozaic of your life!

Participant Experience
Any experience in improv is welcome, but needs to have a genuine curiosity towards exploring physicality and inspiration from the body, as well as discovering a new show structure with the interest to play within its frame.

About Your Teacher
Gael has practiced improv for about 15 years in Strasbourg and then Amsterdam. He is the co-founder of Flock Theatre, Anananas & Pampamplemousse (formerly La Carpe Haute), as well as the SIN, an international network of improvisers in Europe. He is also the Artistic Director of IMPRO Amsterdam, and the co-Artistic Director of Improfestival Karlsruhe. In short: he creates a bunch of stuff!

He loves to teach abroad and to create new shows to explore and share his passion, including with his partner on and off-stage, Laura Doorneweerd-Perry. After touring the world with their show Object of Affection, he settled in Amsterdam and they created Flock Theatre together: a school and a professional company, to produce theatrical improvised shows and invite other artists to collaborate.

While traveling, Gael found a thousand ways to improvise. These result in his unique style: both physical and noisy, kind and silly, full of emotions and slightly crazy.
